Micromorph Tandem Solar Cells – Modules of the future

Micromorph/Tandem panels (μSi) are fast becoming a popular choice for installations on commercial rooftops, or where there are some sources of narrow shading on the site.

More efficient than amorphous (aSi) and CdTe thin film modules, tandem panels (sometimes known as micro-crystalline modules) incorporate both amorphous and crystalline layers.

The crystalline layer enhances the efficiency (minimising the area required) whilst retaining the heat benefits of amorphous silicon (less voltage drop in summer compared to traditional modules).
