Greenforce Energy is committed to preserving the privacy of our clients and employees, and furthermore is committed to keeping up with both legal requirements in this area, and changing community expectations.

Guiding Principles

Our approach to privacy is governed by these principles:

  1. Use information to provide our customers with requested products and timely service;
  2. Never sell information relating to our clients, nor make our database available for hire;
  3. Never approach new prospects out of hours;
  4. Train staff regarding policy, and maintain safeguards on our IT and physical infrastructure to prevent loss of data; and 
  5. Be a responsible steward of the information in our possession.

 

Formal Privacy Policy

 

1. Information we may collect from you

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of data or personal information from you:

a) Information that you provide to us voluntarily for the purpose of registering with our forums (name, username and email address).

b) Details of general website visits received and the use of our Website which may include your IP address, geographical location, referral source, entry and exit pages, length of visit, route taken through our website. This is not collected in connection with your name, and is primarily for security in the event of a malicious attack (hacking).

c) Information that you provide to us for the purpose of obtaining a quotation or similar. 

2. Where we store your personal data

The data and information we collect from you is stored on a secure Australian based datacentre. Hard copies of information are stored in our offices, on the second level of a secure building with a permanent watchman present. Some data is collected by Google Analytics if your have arrived by way of AdWords or via Google search products. By submitting your personal data you agree to this storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is managed in accordance with this policy. As detailed above in the guidelines, we will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss of your personal information. Unfortunately the storage and transmission of information over the internet is not completely secure and therefore we can not guarantee the complete security of your data sent to our site. However, we will do our best to ensure that your personal data is protected and will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. 3. Use of your personal or corporate data

We only use your personal information for the purposes of arranging solar power services for you. Generally speaking, this is limited to arranging tradespeople to visit your home to conduct works requested by you, and for the purpose of evaluating your site suitability with respect to solar. It will be used to fill out relevant government forms and for searching of our satellite imaging service.

4. Disclosure of your personal data

We will not make your personal information or data available to third parties except:

a)  where the information is required by a statutory authority, such as a service provider or grid operator (Transgrid, Ausgrid etc)

b)  to the extent that we are legally obliged to do so by law – such as a request by Centrelink, the ATO or other government agencies.

c)  in connection with any legal proceedings.

d)  or in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
