Jinko Solar
Jinko Solar is a global heavyweight in the solar industry, having supplied Australia’s largest currently built solar farm at Royalla (20 Megawatts).
Jinko Solar is unique in that it has a low cost process for producing the raw material polysilicon, and this provides the company with a solid financial footing going forward. JinkoSolar is one of a handful of leading manufacturers that consistently makes a profit. We think this financial performance is an important positive factor for future warranty service, if required.
Financials
Jinko Solar is the 4th largest manufacturer globally, but importantly the company leads in developing its own solar projects via its Jinko Power division. The company invested in the largest Chinese project, 200MW in Gansu, and numerous overseas projects (such as those in Japan).
This means the company’s future success is strongly tied to the investment they have made using their own panels (“skin in the game”).
Greenforce Energy likes this a lot.
Solar Panel Product Quality
Jinko Solar modules supplied to Australia are made on automated production lines using robotics from companies such as ABB, Swire, Schmit and more. The automated assembly provides consistency and multiple testing / QC stages to verify quality of PV modules coming off the production line.
Jinko Solar is a conservative company that is very selective about the materials that go into its panels. As an example, Jinko Solar sources silver pastes and back sheets from global leader DuPont.
Jinko Solar also manufactures many of the key components in-house (e.g. junction boxes), to ensure quality. These materials are exposed to the elements, and it is obviously important to get these components right to ensure long-term reliability.
